PS3 Price Drop And New Console Announced
Sony has some good news for PS3 fans, which it announced at the GamesCom show in cologne yesterday, that the PS3 is getting it's long awaited price drop! But thats not all, there has been rumours flying around the net for a couple of months now about a new slim ps3, well they have turned out to be true, great!
Ill start with the price drop, the existing PS3 console has now dropped in price from £299.99 to £249.99, with immediate effect until existing 80gb PS3 stocks last. At the time of writing the best PS3 bundle we can find is £249.99, with a free game and you can add onther game for £10. So a PS3 with 2 games (and new releases at that!) for £259.99, thats amazing!
Now the new slim ps3, it has a 120gb hard drive, more than enough for most gamers, it’s 32% smaller, uses 34% less energy and is 36% lighter, all good news! It will go on sale on sep 1st 2009.
Also announced is that the BBC iPlayer will be arriving soon to the PlayStation Network and also that a new Firmware Update 3.0 will rolled-out, which will contain a bunch useful shortcuts and features aimed to make the Xross Media Bar and PlayStation Store less hassle to navigate
below are some pics of the new PS3 slim console, i personally don't think it looks as good as it seems to have a matt finish, as opposed to the piano black of the current 80gb ps3, but there is no doubting it is a better console. What do you think? please leave a comment.
