I have bought every FIFA game religiously every year since FIFA 04 and
every time i buy the new one i absolutely hate it for about a month while i
learn the new moves and controls, then everything starts to come
together and i am hooked and start to absolutely love the game. FIFA 08
is no exception to this rule, at the start i hated it, the tackling controls
where in different places, buttons did different things than 07 and i just
kept getting frustrated at being severely beaten.

After a while though once the controls start to become second nature,
you start to realise this is the best and most realistic FIFA ever, with
more control than ever before. The tricks, once you start to master them
are relatively easy to do as long as you get your timing perfect, as in real
life football.

The next gen gameplay engine maximises the power of the PS3 and
delivers realistic animation and ball control, you feel as though you are
actually on the pitch, it is that responsive. The A.I is excellent and players
(CPU) are aware of it's own surroundings, which make it react
authentically to the opportunities and threats, and is able to make
intelligent decisions which makes FIFA 08 the hardest yet. (FIFA 07
wasn't actually that hard after a while)

You also have more control over your shooting, where you can be more
precise than ever before, or you can use aiming aids, which i did until i
got used to the game.

You can create your own combination skill moves by combining tricks
and skill moves together, to define your own style of play. You can then
video your best moves or goals and post them on the FIFA 08 website to
show your stuff off to the world. Another good section on the online mode
is football news where you see the real life up to date tables and
relevant football news of the week.

A new mode called "Be a Pro" puts you in the role of a single payer on
the pitch, you can also have other real people on your team online
against other real people which is highly entertaining.

All in all a great game, if you like football games and can't decide
between FIFA and Pro Evo then get FIFA, i have played both and FIFA
wins hands down, even if you do have to go through the frustrating
learning period, it is worth it in the end!
