10th Oct 2007
Well we think the biggest PS3 news this year is the price drop,
which takes effect today the 10th Oct 2007, Sony have introduced
the PS3 40GB which retails at £299 and the 60GB goes down to
£349 but includes 2 free games. The main differences between
the two are;
PS3 40GB:
No Backwards compatibility for PS2 games
2 USB (slots instead of 4)
No media card readers
PS3 60GB:
Does have Backward Compatibilty
Has 4 USB ports
Has a media card reader
Has 2 games bundled with it as standard
So which one do you go for? Well soon you won't have an option
as the 60GB is only available while stocks last, which according
to most sources is that they will run out by Jan/Feb 08. But for now
in our opinion the 60GB is better value for money, especially if you
have loads of PS2 games you want to use and don't want to keep
switching between two consoles. However when you consider we
have found a bundle deal where you can get the 40GB PS3 with a
game for £304.99 (use the navigation bar to view the deals) if you
are not bothered about the PS2 games or the 20GB drop in
memory space then this seems the better option! Either way the
prices for both are excellent value for money when you consider a
good Blu-Ray DVD player will set you back about £500

Bladestorm release 2nd Nov 2007
Choose whether to support the French or the English forces in the
epic Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War on PLAYSTATION 3.
In the early half of the 14th century a quarrel with England over the
succession to the French throne escalated into what history
would call the Hundred Years’ War. Bladestorm: The Hundred
Years’ War brings to life the intensity and drama of a war-torn
Medieval Europe with a cast of legendary characters including
Joan of Arc and Edward the Black Prince.
Utilising a new game engine attainable only through the power of
next generation hardware, Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War
recreates the fierce clashes between the armies of England and
France on an unprecedented scale, where every soldier reacts
individually to their immediate surroundings. Players assume the
role of a mercenary leader and strategically command, in real
time, a wide range of troops including infantry, archers, cavalry,
and cannoneers.
You'll need to choose which side to contract your army to before
engaging in ferocious battles using an innovative action style that
lets you defeat countless soldiers with a cleverly chosen attack
command. Outwit and overwhelm to be the last one standing
when the dust settles on one of history’s greatest wars.
Bladestorm: The Hundred Years’ War is being developed by KOEI’
s Omega Force, the team behind the award-winning Samurai
Warriors and Dynasty Warriors series.
